Onus on the parents and elders to connect youngsters with culture and language

“Kashmiri language overflows with words of love, respect and warmth. There is no other language as per my knowledge which lends so much love and respect in conversations as Kashmiri language”, said Dr. Ramesh Nirrash in an interview with Rohit Bhat on TRN

We cannot keep blaming youngsters that they are getting away from language and culture. The onus is completely on parents and elders. We have to create the ambience at home because schools will not be able to take responsibility of mother tongue. It is solely the responsibility of parents, grandparents and other elders to create such an atmosphere at home so that youngsters get pulled towards mother tongue. He also quoted Lal Ded and Nund Reshi talking about the beauty and culture of Kashmir. He extolled the beauty of Kashmir through his poetic expressions.

Dr. Nirrash also said that our writers of Kashmiri Language should encourage children to take up writing. Dr. Nirrash is a multi faceted personality with expertise in music composition, poetry, singing, Ayurveda and numerology.
