PMAY: J&K raises 60,777 houses, achieves 27 percent target
The Jammu and Kashmir government has constructed 60,777 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) and achieved 27 percent of target of the scheme.
An official told that among completed housed, 50 000 were constructed under (PMAY-G)Garmin while 10,777 houses under (PMAY-U) urban.
Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana is an initiative by the Government of India in which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor with a target of building 2 crore affordable houses by 31 March 2022. The flagship has two components, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Urban for the urban poor and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin for the rural poor.
As per the details available with TNN, under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin mission target was set for 1.40 Lakh houses. Out of 1.40 Lakh houses, over 1.39 beneficiaries are registered on AwaaSoft. Further, as per the details, over 1.36 Lakh houses have been sanctioned with verified accounts.
The details also state that out of 1.40 Lakh houses target, 1.37 Lakh houses have been geo-tagged. Also, the first instalment has been released to over 1.30 Lakh houses. Whereas, 50, 000 houses have been completed. Also as per the details available, over 1100 masons have been trained under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, the mission target in Jammu and Kashmir has set up as 79,331 houses. Whereas, over 60, 047 beneficiaries have been identified. Further, as per the detail, over 56, 101 houses have been sanctioned so far in Jammu and Kashmir.
Further, out of the 79, 311 targets, so far, 10,777 houses have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. Out of 10, 777 houses, 7894 are Beneficiary Led Construction and 2833 are Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme.
