Vice President C P Radhakrishnan To Inaugurate 9th India International Water Week In New Delhi

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 in New Delhi today. The five day event is being organised on the theme Climate Resilient Water Management. The Jal Shakti Ministry has informed that the international event will witness the participation of the Netherlands and Germany as Partner Countries while fourteen states will participate as partner states and six Central Ministries and Departments have been invited to participate as Partner Ministries and Departments.

The Ministry noted that a four day international exhibition will also be organised till 25thof this month. The exhibition will provide a platform for showcasing innovative technologies, products and solutions for sustainable and climate-resilient water management. The Second International WASH Conference 2026 will also be organised by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. It will focus on drinking water access, sanitation infrastructure, hygiene behaviour and public health, with emphasis on scalable, affordable and sustainable solutions.

The Ministry said that deliberations during the event will cover inclusive and equitable water governance, collaboration for optimal use of water resources, technology and community for water security, water in climate-related risk, innovative financing models for water infrastructure and modernisation, sustainable water resources management and water for people and planet.
