Two Ramban cops found dead inside car, police probe circumstances
Ramban, KNT: Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two police personnel who were found unconscious inside a car at Ziarat Morh in the Sana area of Batote tehsil on Tuesday evening.
The two personnel were found inside a Fiat Linea car bearing registration number JK-19/5299 at around 8:30 pm. Locals shifted them to District Hospital Ramban, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed, a resident of Bhatti, Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob, a resident of Jatgali, Ramban. Both were posted at District Police Lines, Ramban.
The circumstances in which the two personnel reached the location, how long they had been inside the vehicle and what led to them becoming unconscious before their deaths are among the aspects expected to be examined during the police proceedings.
The exact cause of death has not yet been established. Police have initiated further proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident, while the bodies have been kept at District Hospital Ramban for medico-legal formalities.
Senior police and hospital officials reached the hospital following the incident. The findings of the medico-legal examination and subsequent investigation are expected to establish the cause and circumstances of the deaths.
