Missing Hiranagar MLA’s teenage son traced to Delhi, being brought back

Jammu,  KNT: Police have traced the 17-year-old son of Hiranagar MLA Vijay Kumar in Delhi, a day after he was reported missing from Hiranagar in Kathua district.

Officials said the teenager was traced early Wednesday while traveling on a Delhi-bound bus following an overnight search operation.

Police teams had been working on multiple leads after the family reported him missing on Tuesday evening. The search involved examination of available CCTV footage and inquiries at transport points.

Officials said the teenager had left for Delhi without informing his family and was traced after police established contact with him.

He was being brought back to Jammu, officials said.

Police had earlier launched a search across the Kathua-Jammu belt after receiving information about his movements from Hiranagar. [KNT]
