President Ramnath Kovind participates Indian Navy’s operational demonstration in Kochi

President Ramnath Kovind today participated in various programmes of the Southern Naval Command in Kochi. He witnessed an operational demonstration of the Navy that lasted 45 minutes. Anti-submarine ships, submarine warfare helicopters, fighter aircrafts & helicopters, sail training ships, surveillance aircrafts, Fast Attack Crafts and Fast Interceptor Crafts were on display.

The President later visited cell of the  INS Vikrant, country’s first indigenous aircraft carrier built by the Cochin Shipyard for the Navy.  Governor Arif Mohd Khan joined the President to the Vikrant Cell. President  Kovind will halt in Kochi tonight.

The President, currently on a four-day visit of Kerala,  flew down Kannur by a special IAF aircraft yesterday, attended the fifth convocation function of the Central University of Kerala at Periyam, Kasaragod.

Tomorrow, President  Kovind will unveil a statue of P.N. Panicker, the father of library & literacy movement in Kerala, in the State capital Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow. He will have night halt in  Raj Bhavan and return to New Delhi  Friday morning.
