HC for identification of illegal migrants

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Monday directed Home Department to evolve mechanism for identification of all illegal immigrants.
In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Adv Hunar Gupta, seeking direction to J&K for appointing and issue necessary directions to a Former Retired Judge to hold an inquiry to identify all the illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh migrated in J&K.

A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Ankesh Chandel for the PIL whereas Advocate General DC Raina with AAG Raman Sharma for the UT, directed Secretary Home, UT of J&K to consider the matter and to evolve a mechanism for the identification of all illegal immigrants and to prepare a list after identifying them.
DB further directed that the said exercise may be carried out, most promptly, within a period of six weeks.
