Devotees take holy dip in river Ganga in Haridwar on occasion of Karthik Purnima

In Uttarakhand, lakhs of devotees from various parts of the country took a holy dip in river Ganga at Haridwar on the occasion of Karthik Purnima along with the lunar eclipse, today. Devotees also offered prayers to the Sun God and performed rituals at the bank of the river Ganga.

Meanwhile, the Portals of the Badrinath Dham were closed this morning before the start of the eclipse. The portals will be opened for the devotees at 6.25  in the evening with the end of the lunar eclipse.
