Discrepancies found in 50% of cases, DDOs asked to reverify

In a significant development, the General Administration Department GAD has directed JKHRMS to re verify service related details of as many as 50% cases approved by DDOs on account of ‘discrepancies’ found with regard to employees’ information. These cases/entries are learnt to be in the process of getting reverted back to the accounts of DDOs for rectification and approval afresh.

In an order issued two days back, GAD has also asked the concerned authorities to issue necessary instructions and impart all requisite guidelines/directions to all the DDOs to ensure what has been termed as ‘unerring’ updation of service details . Rectification of cases where discrepancies have been found in many aspects shall enable the concerned authorities to upload correct appointment orders, promotion orders and other related details which is why they will be reverted in DDO logins so that correct information could be provided on JKHRMS portal.

It may be recalled that in October last year (2022) the LG administration came up with this vital order of having an integrated platform for various employee related services like maintenance of service book/service record of all the employees in digital format. For the purpose, JKHRMS(J&K Human Resource Management System) was launched in the UT , first of its kind in J&K primary task of which was to provide all minor/major details of employees digitally so that it could be accessed with ease for information both by the concerned departmental heads as also by the employees. From salary slips to GP fund details, promotions and appointment dates etc , employees were asked to upload all their information through prescribed procedure.

However, a major loophole in the set up was that employees were not asked to fill in the details as to how or through which recruiting agency they have got the jobs, sources said adding that this lacuna provided a sort of escape route for many who have managed to get the jobs through backdoor or unfair means.

While the employees have uploaded their necessary relevant information, discrepancies with regard to details have been found in 50% entries, sources said adding that this became conspicuous and re verification of details has been necessitated in the wake of uncovering of many employees in recent past having managed government jobs on fake degrees or through inappropriate/unfair channels.

Pertinently, it was mentioned in the earlier order that DDOs shall ensure that all information with regard to employees under their control is updated and verified and they shall be personally responsible for any mismatch in the verification of formats.
